Contact Governor Otter

Hey everyone!

I know first hand how annoying and controversial that politics can be. Christian and I have sent a couple of e-mails to most of you so I'll just quickly describe what is going on right now.

The Idaho Senate passed a bill that would take funding away from the adult CF program. It is in the House's Health and Welfare Committee and then has to be voted on by the House of Reps. We are trying to get friends and family to contact them and let then know that this should not happen and will have a HUGE negative effect on more than just the CF sufferers. (If you didn't get the e-mail and would like it, let me know)

However, the program just sent a letter saying that the money allotted for the rest of the fiscal year is gone. This is practically impossible because they only allot $18,000 per adult each year. Christian and many other adults with CF have not even used $10,000 of that money. Where did it go?

We are asking for people to contact Governor Butch Otter's office and do two things:

1) Ask for the S1082 Bill regarding Cystic Fibrosis to be pulled. He has the power to pull the bill before it even makes it to the floor.

2) Ask for an audit of the Children's Special Health Program's funding for CF adults. The money had to go somewhere, but it's obvious it was not used what it was allotted for.

If you all need more information, please let me now and contact me. Without this money, the hardworking, taxpaying adults with CF will be forced to quit their jobs and rely on the government for their health care and financial support. PLEASE help us so that it does not end this way.

Wonderful Husband!

Our faucet started leaking for the second time in three years. SO, we decided we would just buy a new faucet and replace it. Sounds easy right?

First issue: Christian thought a new faucet would run about $50.

Second: I hadn't been able to do dishes for a couple of days and so we were a little testy swimming in our dishes.

Three: I bought a cheap faucet and took it home. Christian took two hours to install the new faucet, only to find that it too leaked!

Four: Take the faucet back to Home Depot (my fourth trip in three days) and buy a nicer one.

Five: My wonderful husband installed his second kitchen sink faucet of the day. It looks and works wonderfully.

What a wonderful man to do this for me! I am so grateful for a husband who knows how to do things like this. We have had many trials with this house and this was just a minor one. Thank you Christian for my new faucet. It works so much better than the old one...AND it doesn't leak!\

I Hate Groundhogs!

I have been so happy the sun has come out. It makes me so happy and wanting to open the windows, air out the house, and do a bunch of cleaning.

Yesterday, Christian and I cleaned out a lot of clutter and took a station wagon full of things to Goodwill. We organized the office, kitchen and bathroom. It felt so good to be out of hibernation and into spring again.

This morning we woke up and started getting ready for church. Christian had a headache, but we started to take our showers and get dressed. After I was finished with my church preparation routine, I went to find Christian. He was doubled over on the floor of our closet with one of the worst headaches he's had in a while.

We ended up staying home. I fell asleep this sunny Sunday afternoon on the couch and woke up to snow. It is coming down heavily, and then I realized that this could be the reason Christian was in extreme pain today.

The plus side? The sun is out and is so bright.

I hate groundhogs and their shadows.

Another Liberating Day

This post may sound like a previous post. However instead of geese, the subjects are roosters. We had eight roosters and only four hens. As you can tell, this isn't great for the hens...or our sleeping habits.

We had a couple of friends come in town and so they helped Christian butcher the chickens. In turn they got to take home some fresh chicken and Christian didn't get worn down. It was a win, win situation. Actually it is a win, win, WIN situation because now we can have our windows open and hear nothing but the PLEASANT chirping of birds.

It is the little things in life!
