I am curious what everyone else thinks in regards to friends who are trying to sell things and want to come to your house to give you a sales pitch. I'm not talking about things like Scentsy parties or Jewelry parties etc. I'm talking about things such as, "Hey friend, I haven't talked to you in a while, but I would like to come and pressure you to buy an air purifier."
Do you think that it is being of service to friends to let them come and sell you things? Leave your answer on the poll to the left please! I am curious.

Nothing New
There hasn't been anything extremely exciting going on in our lives. We are still working and I am still going to school. The bathrooms...well they aren't finished yet due to school starting, but they are slowly getting there.
Highlights this week:
1) Christian got home for being gone for about 2 weeks. He visited Oregon, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming on this trip. He was deeply missed.
2) Even though Christian was missed, I made up for it through shopping! :) I bought a beautiful bench for the foot of our bed, stools for the bar, clothes and other things that I don't know if I actually needed, but it was fun to do!
3) I held a rooster! I HATE chickens because they peck and have talons that could hurt. However there was a rooster that got it's two "feet" tangled in some bailing (string that holds a bail of straw together) and it couldn't walk. Of course it was surrounded by the other roosters, which I was not keen on.
I grabbed the end of the piece of twine and all the other roosters scrambled to get away while I grabbed this rooster and untangled it's legs/paw/what ever they are actually called. Needless to say, I was pretty proud of myself on that day! It's the little things that make me feel important.
4) The weather has been so BEAUTIFUL lately. It makes me want to go for walks and clean. So...I walked all over going shopping and I started my spring cleaning.
As you can see, our life is full of excitement. So what if others are traveling the world, I can save a chicken!

A Day We Have Dreamed Of
Christian went to the doctor's today for his trial study he's been participating in. For those who don't know, Christian has been involved in a study for a new enzyme for people with Cystic Fibrosis. It has changed his life drastically. He doesn't eat as much as he used to, doesn't spend as much time in the bathroom, and last but not least, now knows what it feels like to feel full. (It was a sensation he had to get used to.)
Christian used to take about 10 pills per meal to try to help him digest his food and absorb nutrients...and it still didn't work well. The new enzyme works amazingly and he only takes 1-2 per meal/snack.
We found out that the company who created this pill and was doing the trial study is no longer going to pursue it due to the economy. They will no longer offer the pill for the study patients and they will have to go back to their old enzymes. This will change their lives for the worse. We have been praying that something would happen so that the study could continue and the pill would be produced.
However, at today's visit for this enzyme, the doctors and nurses were telling him about a new study they will be starting soon. It's a study I read about in it's earlier stages, but never thought it would work! This study is for a pill that people with certain mutations of the CF gene would take one to two times a day. What will the pill do you ask?
Drum roll...
This pill will practically cure the people with these CF mutations. It's not a "cure," because the CF will still be in the body, but it will make the body produce the chloride it needs to return to normal as the pill is taken. (if that makes any sense...I'm trying to shorten the explanation.)
Luckily, Christian has both strands of the CF genes they have the pills for. He is planning on signing up for the study, that is after he looks into it and seeing what his Dr. says and what the drawbacks would be. This would mean that Christian would not need to do breathing treatments, no more hospital visits, no sinus surgeries etc. It is basically the answer to people's prayers.
The only draw back is that the doctors think that because Christian is older, his pancreas is probably "shot" enough that he will still need to take enzymes with his food.
We are excited. Cross your fingers that this will turn out for the best!
